Ingredients
Main Ingredient
- 1 cup Poha
Veggies
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 small potato, pilled and chopped
- 1 small tomato, chopped (optional)
- 2 green chilly, chopped
- 2 tbsp ground nuts (optional)
Oil
- 1 tbsp olive/groundnut oil
Spices
- 3-4 Curry leaves
- 1/4 tsp Asafetida
- 1 tsp Mustard Seed
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Red Chilly powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder (Optional)
- Salt to taste
Garnish
- Lemon
- Sev
- Coriander Leaves
Directions
Prepare Poha
- Wash the Poha (dry) poha thoroughly
Prepare Vegetables
- Peel the potato and cut it into medium pieces
- Cut the onion in medium pieces
- Cut the tomato in medium pieces
- Also chop the green chilly
Roast the veggies
- Add oil in the pan and let it heat
- Add Groundnuts, saute it for 2 minutes and take them out in different dish
Now add spices in below order
- Mustard seeds, let it sputter
- Cumin Seeds
- Asafetida
- Curry leaves
Now add
- Green chilly
- Add potatoes, let it saute for 1 mins
- Add onions, let it saute for 1 mins
- Add tomatoes and ground nuts
Make it spicy and Add Poha
Add spices in below order
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp Red Chilly powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
Now Add Poha and remaining spices again so that it mix well with Poha as well. 1
Mix the Poha well with all the stuffs on low heat.
It is important to note that there is a possibility of Poha getting dry during the process of mixing. So I would like to sprinkle little water or milk so that Poha remains soft.
Garnish and Serve
- Now Squeeze some lemon, sprinkle sev, coriander leaves and serve it hot with Masala Tea.
